The former Racing Genk-coach Albert Stuivenberg (47) has been appointed as one of the assistants of the Welsh national coach Ryan Giggs. That has Giggs Thursday, announced at a press conference, reports the BBC.
Giggs, at the beginning of this year appointed as coach of Wales, made his first selection known. He selected 26 players for the China Cup, where the Welsh record against the host country, and subsequently against either Uruguay or the Czech republic. In addition Stuivenberg expects Giggs on the expertise of goalkeeper coach Tony Roberts, Osian Roberts and Tony Strudwick. Wales, a semi-finalist at the european CHAMPIONSHIPS in 2016, did not post for the next world cup in Russia.
Stuivenberg has worked from 2014 to 2016 together with Giggs at Manchester United, under head coach Louis van Gaal. The Dutchman went in december 2016 to work as coach of Racing Genk, where he a year later was fired. Previously coached Stuivenberg the Dutch U17 (2006-13) and Young Orange (2013-14).
