A travelling film festival Ciné Privé stroke this year from 15 to 18 march 2018 down in New Ghent. Four days brings the festival short films, documentaries and animation in surprising locations in the Ghent district.
Ciné Privé brings movies from the top shelf for a special Ghent district. Tomorrow and Friday set a jury of, among others, programmers of Film Fest Gent is a sophisticated program with works by young domestic and foreign filmmakers together. On Saturday, march 17, shall curate Ghent filmmaker Nathalie Teirlinck, winner of the cultural prize of the City of Ghent 2017, the evening program, with films from established values in her own work have inspired. The locations are as unique as the movie. Especially for Ciné Privé set the creative buurtatelier CAMPUS on the De Pintelaan and the antique room of the Ghent university Museum their imposing spaces open for film screenings.
On Sunday, march 18, families can visit the christus koning church in the Rerum Novarumplein for a free family programme. From 15.30 hours local artistic talent from the area the chance to shine. The musicians of vzw Jong, and children’s choir Mais Quelle Chanson join forces in a concert of the newly founded Vierseizoenenfestival. The young kunstenaartjes attending the wijkatelier of the Academy of Visual Arts in New Ghent show a film about their artistic adventures. To 17 hours will be Ciné Private, ended with the free screening of “The GVR”, the classic from Steven Spielberg to the famous book by Roald Dahl.
