President Ivan Savvidis of the Greek football club PAOK has excuses made for his behavior in the final phase of the competition against AEK Athens.

The 58-year-old Georgian was furious with the field up, in company of his bodyguards, after the referee a goal of PAOK was disapproved because of offside. Savvidis appeared under his coat a pistol to his belt.

The Greek government decided Monday to the national soccer league until further notice to stop because of all the incidents of the last few weeks. ,,I want to apologize”, wrote Savvidis on the website of PAOK.

“I had absolutely no right to the field. I wanted to only tens of thousands of PAOK fans protect to provocations, riots and injured. I had no intention to get mixed up in an argument with opponents and the referees. And I have absolutely no one threatened.”
