The American athlete Michael Norman Saturday during the American universiteitskampioenschappen in College Station, Texas, the world record in the 400 meter indoor broken. The 20-year-old Norman set a time of 44 seconds, and 52 hundredths.
Norman, the world champion in the 200 metres for junior, ran 5 hundredths faster than the previous world record (44.57). That was in march 2005, set by another American, Kerron Clement, also during universiteitskampioenschappen.
It was only the third time that Norman as well in a final in the 400 metres indoor.
And just like that Michael Norman reclaims his record in the Men’s 400m.
