BERLIN – the Deputy SPD leader Olaf Scholz, and Andrea Nahles, the prospective new chairman of the German social democrats, have Friday their ministersploeg presented for the large cabinet of chancellor Angela Merkel.
Heavyweights Michael Roth, Hubertus Heil, Heiko Maas, Andrea Nahles, Olaf Scholz, Katarina Barley, Franziska Giffey, Svenja Schulze, and Lars Klingbeil.
Hubertus Heil is the minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Katarina Barley comes to Justice and Svenja Schulze takes the department of the Environment, report the German media.
Thursday, it was clear that Heiko Maas, the new man is on Foreign Affairs and Scholz, minister of Finance. He is also the vice-chancellor in the new government. Franziska Giffey is responsible for Family matters.
Scholz thanked, among others, Sigmar Gabriel (Foreign Affairs), Barbara Hendricks (Environment) and Brigitte Zypries (Economy), which do not recur in the cabinet, for their merits in the past years.
