Gert Verheyen, coach of the Belgian U19-jongensploeg, has Friday his selection published for the eliteronde (the last preliminary round of the european CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018. From 21 to 27 march, will seek the young Devils in Spain to qualify for the finals.
The Belgians were at the beginning of december when the draw in Nyon in group 6 are accommodated, together with crackers Spain and France. Furthermore, Bulgaria is in the group. The seven group winners play the final round in Finland (16-29 July). In the first qualifying round placed the troops of Gert Verheyen himself as second in their group, together with Macedonia, for the eliteronde. The EK 2018 also counts as a qualifier for the world cup U20 in 2019. The last european CHAMPIONSHIP-participation of the Belgian U19 dates back to 2011.
The young Devils open Wednesday 21 march (12 noon) with a match against France in Benidorm. There is on Saturday, march 24 (18h) also the duel with the host country on the program. The Belgians close the eliteronde on Tuesday 27 march (17h30) with a match against the Bulgarians in Alcoy.
