BRUSSELS – Two of the nineteen Members of the British Conservative Party have joined a different group in the European Parliament. Julie Girling and Richard Ashworth think they make their voters better able to serve as a member of the European people’s Party (EPP), the largest and most influential political group in the parliament, where the CDA.

EPP group chairman Manfred Weber says very happy with the arrival of the two. Also, CDA Member of the european parliament and EPP-vicefractievoorzitter Esther de Lange called them welcome. The two continue to be a member of the Conservative Party.
The other seventeen Tory’s still in the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), where the ChristenUnie/SGP is part of.
