Oranjevrouwen far too strong for world cup finalist Japan at Algarve Cup

The Oranjevrouwen are Wednesday, had an excellent start to the Algarve Cup. The European champion was in her opening match of the oefentoernooi in Portugal with less than 6-2 too strong for vice-world champion Japan.

The netherlands was halfway already to a 5-1 lead through goals from Lieke Martens, Lineth Beerensteyn, Siri Worm, Shanice van de Sanden, and Stefanie van der Gragt.

Japan, in an aging B-team played, gave a 4-0 deficit something back via a hit of Emi Nakajima.

In the second half were both teams are more well matched, and it was only Martens and Mana Iwabuchi yet to score.
