Chairman tennis federation revises position, Darcis categoriek against reform of Davis Cup

André Stein, chairman of the Belgian tennis federation, could be Monday with absolute certainty say that Belgium, in August at the General Assembly of the International tennis federation against the reform of the Davis Cup will vote. After a conversation with his top player David Goffin (ATP-7) had Stein Tuesday his position, however, to refine.

“It is clear that the tennis players absolutely less races on the calendar like,” said Stein. “We remain very opposed to a formula in which Belgium never for your own audience will be playing, but a match for your own audience, without playing Goffin, is also not in our stall. The AV is only about six months. So We have a lot of time to think about our voice, to think. Then we will have also the details of their project.”

Steve Darcis, alias “Mister Davis Cup”, is categoriek against the reform. “But what a great idea, this new formula!!!”, he placed on Instagram. And that certainly, ironically intended, is evident from the hashtags #daviscupisdood, #eenschande, #geldgeldgeld and #awfully sad.
