Ava DuVernay is awarded with a major American feminismeprijs. The director of the film Selma, and A Wrinkle in Time received her award on may 3 during the annual Gloria Awards Gala in New York. Also, Elaine Welteroth, former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, falls on the gala in the prices. That made the organization Ms Foundation Wednesday known.
“We are excited to have the winners to announce for the eighth annual Gloria Awards. Colorful women are essential to our mission to fairness and justice for all to promote”, said Teresa C. Younger, president of the Ms Foundation for women since 2014. “The laureates of this year are brilliant black women whose innovation, leadership and courage this country closer to a just and inclusive democracy for all generations.”
Younger calls DuVernay pronounced pleitbezorgster ’of whom her work is strong and positive tones shows’. The director will receive, on may 3, the Woman of Vision Award for feminist leaders of positive change’. Elaine Welteroth is awarded with the Marie C. Wilson Award for young, ground-breaking feminists’.
