LEICESTER – By a large explosion in the English city of Leicester are Sunday night, five people to the life to come. According to the BBC, there are still five people in the hospital. The fire department and police are still looking for missing persons.
“We think that there are still people under the rubble and are, therefore, going to our rescue by to other possible victims,” said the commissioner of police Shane O’neill. Specialized rescue teams search with zoekhonden to survivors and other victims.
By the explosion, the cause of which is still unknown, several homes and a Polish supermarket was completely destroyed. The police reported that there is no indication that the explosion is linked to terrorism.
Witnesses say in The Guardian that it felt like a heavy earthquake. The supermarket, which still was open at the time of the explosion, was right in front of a bus stop.
