British singer Ed Sheeran is the “bestseller” of 2017 in the music business. Of him went last year worldwide, most of the albums over-the-counter, as reported by the International Federation of the Fonografische Industry (IFPI). In march 2017-released album took on 36 markets multi-platinum. ‘Shape of you’ was the biggest selling single with multiplatina in 32 markets.
The Canadian rapper Drake gets the silver on his compilation album ‘More life’, Swift the bronze, her sixth, only in november-released album ‘Reputation’ (with the single ‘Look what you made me do’).
The London-based IFPI represents its ranking by taking into account the physical sales, online sales, the number of times an album is listened to, and with on-demand streaming.
The top ten is in order, complete with albums from Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, and The Chainsmokers.
