The Russian, Leonid Slutsky would be one of the candidates for the follow-up of Henk Fraser at Vitesse. The current coach leaves after this season at the Fc from Arnhem.
According to the Guardian general director Joost de Wit and technical director Marc van Hintum in January with the former coach of Russia spoken in London, but the club would not confirm.
Slutsky, departed in december as coach at Championship club Hull City, due to disappointing results. Under his leadership the club won only four of nineteen league games on the second English the minor leagues.
Previously, the 46-year-old Russian over seven years as a trainer of CSKA Moscow. With this club he was three times champion of Russia and he got in the 2009/2010 season, the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Slutsky as from 2015 also the national coach of Russia. Under his leadership, qualified the Russians for the european CHAMPIONSHIPS of 2016, but suggested the team is disappointing with a last place in the group. Then he stepped on to the national league.
Maurice Steijn, now coach of VVV-Venlo, is also mentioned as a possible successor of Fraser in Arnhem.
