VALENCIA – The Spanish football club Villarreal has Rúben Semedo is suspended. The Portuguese defender will receive for any salary. Semedo was early this week arrested and heard Thursday in the court a heavy indictment. The Portuguese jeugdinternational is accused of attempt to murder, theft and illegal possession of weapons.

Villarreal paid last summer for 14 million euros to Sporting lisbon to Semedo to take over. The defender was partly due to injuries, however, barely in action for the current number six of La Liga. He was Tuesday arrested because he a man would have threatened with a gun, that later by the police was found in his house.
,,Villarreal is dismayed by the serious crimes that Semedo according to the court has committed”, writes the club in a statement. ,,Everyone is innocent until the opposite is proven, but the club has decided to encourage the player to suspend his salary to stop until the matter is settled.”
