But also easylistening and popular music could Rik charm, and after a successful collaboration with Frans Bauer, came up with the idea under the name of Ryan Ricks an album. Also in the Netherlands took Ryan Ricks the charts, and there were concerts in many European countries.
“When the album 1 came in Flanders, I was self-tour in Asia,” recalls Rik. “I was in the clouds that I a few weeks later an invitation was given to the Schlagerfestival in Hasselt to play. That was my first acquaintance with a wide Flemish audience, and I was received with open arms.” Still, it would be almost 6 years before there is a 2nd Ryan Ricks album would appear. “Through ups and downs with my former entourage I could not before under the name Ryan Ricks new work to launch,” says Rik. “That was pretty annoying, because Ryan Ricks is a bit of my baby. But mid last year I got the green light to return as Ryan Ricks to get started and the result, the new album is coming in march. Here, I’ve been so looking forward to.”
To his great joy was Rik, again, an invitation for The pop festival 2018 which makes his new work proposals to the Flemish audience: “I’m very happy that I am again invited to one of the most beautiful and largest music festivals in Flanders. I began my career at The pop festival stage in the Hasselt Ethias Arena and I am happy that I will soon return with new work. For me is the circle around”, says Rik. The last few years has Rik as a trumpeter, of course, not been idle. He played along with o.m.
