Netflix serves again, a portion of science fiction. Mute is a Netflix Original film from Duncan Jones (Source Code), with Alexander Skarsgård, Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux.

Sci-fi fans can these days their luck. Blade Runner 2049 and Altered Carbon, we now have behind the teeth, and now there is Netflix a brand new scifithriller ready.

‘Mute’ takes you to the Berlin of 2052. In this noisy and often harsh city, we follow Leo Caller (Alexander Skarsgård), an Amish bartender who can’t speak since his youth, he had an accident. He is desperate to find his girlfriend, the love of his life, who mysteriously disappeared. During his quest collides with he on Cactus, Bill (Paul Rudd) and Duck (Justin Theroux), the two shadowy military surgeons who have their own agenda on hold and all kinds of gangsters to operate to make easy money to get.

Duncan Jones (the son of David Bowie, oh yeah) made a strong start as a director with the award-winning ‘Moon’ (2009) and the thriller ‘Source Code’ (2011), who has a starring role for Jake Gyllenhaal. In 2016, he released his third film, Warcraft, but who scored less well with reviewers and the public.

With his fourth full-length album, will Jones back to the same universe as ‘Moon’, the film that he is a BAFTA-won. The director gave interviews to know that in his new film, reference is made to Sam Rockwells character from ‘Moon’.
