SEOUL – North and South Korea discuss next week about the participation of the North to the Paralympic Games. Representatives of the neighbouring countries will sit down to the table in the border region, reports the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
North Korea has previously indicated that a 150-man delegation to the Paralympic Games. That event is next month in South Korea. Pyongyang sent this year almost five hundred people to the winter olympics. It included athletes, musicians and cheerleaders.
The North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un gave at the beginning of this year the impetus to the so-called sportdiplomatie. He made during his new year’s speech clear overtures to want to look to the South. Kim warned in the same speech, incidentally, is also that the US is within the range of its nuclear arsenal.
