Brussels – The Flemish environment agency calls on the population to Wednesday and Thursday no wood burning in stoves or fireplaces. It would be too much air pollution concerns.

Both days there is already a lot of particulate matter in the air. By wood combustion can that really huge, thus the VMM.
From the fireplace there are harmful pollutants such as particulate matter, dioxins and PAHS (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons). Those substances are bad for the health.
“If people are still firing, we recommend to only dry and untreated wood to use,” writes The Newspaper.
