KOBLENZ – The German customs has Wednesday on 54 addresses in raids carried out in five states in a major campaign against embezzlement and tax evasion. In the action were five hundred employees of the customs involved, according to German media.
Most of the raids were in the länder of North-Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. The customs authorities shall examine the course of 22 people suspected of fraud with social insurance and taxes. The damage runs in the millions. A 31-year-old prime suspect is held.
