Marcel Emperor looks in an exclusive conversation with Telesport back on his resignation at Ajax and the lack of support that he felt.

Marcel Keizer (l) with PSV trainer Phillip Cocu.

Where is the wrong?

“I have seventeen years trainerservaring, but was inexperienced in the top. Then you will know one thing: that at the beginning, you many have to win. Six played to ten points, was for Ajax concepts just very bad. Then we took 28 points from eleven races, by victories at AZ, Feyenoord and PSV. That was a level that you simply champion can be. Everyone within Ajax wíst where that ten out of six came from. It was in the beginning one great emotion. Internally I had the support of the leadership necessary, but there you can only hope.”

That you have too little, do you?

“Yes, I think.”

“If you’re inexperienced-in-the-top-trainer at Ajax street, the whole club behind you. That was manifestly not so. Then get your after one week, a blow to process (the cardiac arrest and brain injury from Nouri, ed.), that is still not contain. At home against Vitesse, we played the worst game of the season and everyone in the leadership knew how that was. I like best that you you seen the harsh conditions outside may speak and for your trainer stand. That they have not done.”

And then do you think?

“This can sometimes be a problem.”

Is it true that director spelersbeleid Marc Overmars after the victory at PSV radius walked by?

“I do not know.”

Come on, you always stands for honesty and openness.

“I was in every case very happy with that victory at PSV.”
