The Belgian selection for the world CHAMPIONSHIPS of indoor Athletics in Birmingham (1-4 march) is known. Only Eline Berings and the Belgian Tornados will participate, that confirmed the Royal Belgian association of athletics. When the Tornados choose coach Jacques Borlée for Michaël Rossaert as the fourth runner. However, an unpleasant surprise for Robin Vanderbemben, that initially the preference was given Rossaert, but now must stay home.
Jacques Borlée has 5 athletes selected for the relay race: three sons Kevin, Jonathan and Dylan Borlée, Jonathan Sacoord and Michaël Rossaert. Robin Vanderbemben was in the past seasons a fixed value in the Tornados but lose now painful spot on Rossaert. He focused this winter mainly on the 60 metres, making him now the price to pay, even though he declared himself last weekend still available for the Tornados.
Vanderbemben has, as yet, no 400 metres walked this indoorseizoen, but that also applies to Kevin and Jonathan Borlée. Dylan Borlée already has two 400 meters walked, but seemed to still not under a time of 47.22. Rossaert showed a chrono of 47.12 recording and Sacoor a time of 46.95.
Eline Berings defends in Birmingham the Belgian colours in the 60 meter hurdles.
Nafi Thiam let us know that they will not participate in the world CHAMPIONSHIPS indoor. She focuses on the outdoor season there is a major target the european CHAMPIONSHIPS in Berlin in August.
