The film ‘Black Panther’ already feels like a real blockbuster to be. The eighteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), in the US, a staggering 192 million dollars during the opening weekend. That we see in the figures that the North American Box Office Top 10 launched.
‘Black Panther’ draws the record of strongest weekend in the month of February ever in the States. This solves the movie ‘Deadpool’, which last year set a new record established with 132.4 million dollars. But this is certainly not the only record. Also, it is clearly the best opening for a (first) solofilm in the MCU. With the 192-million-dollar scores the first weekend of ‘Black Panther’ even better than ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ in 2015 to 191.3 fully diluted million dollars came. Only four films knew ever better to open in the debuutweekend.
