Since Youri Tielemans – after two months in the barn – it is restored to its meniscusblessure, he defended six times the colors of AS Monaco. Three times he was in the base. According to his coach Leonardo Jardim, and he has much groeimarge. Williams himself knows only too well, and sticks his ambition is not under the chairs or benches.
“I feel really good,” smiles Williams in an interview with the French news agency AFP. “I have my old rhythm to be found after that injury. After a few matches, I am back to the old. I work hard for my goals to keep.”
Tielemans, who is central to the civil society plays, in order for goals to compete with crackers as Fabinho, João Moutinho, N’Doram, Traoré and Lemar. “We have a very strong group,” acknowledges the Red Devil. “There is as much quality on the bench as on the field. For each position there are at least two strong players. That makes for competition, and put everyone under pressure.”
But also Williams’ trainer, Leonardo Jardim, do not mind in order to put pressure on his players. “I am very demanding”, explains the Portuguese. “I expect more and more of young players. Of Youri, I expect that the limits of his scans. He has made a lot of progress, but he can do much more.”
Monaco, that Tielemans for 25 million euros bought from Anderlecht, and gave him a five-year contract offered, has plans for the future with the Red Devil. The club would like Tielemans his progression from Anderlecht continue, but with stronger competition and against heavier opponents. The midfielder is also aware of his groeimarge. “I’m on all surfaces improved since my arrival in Monaco,” notes Williams. “I am physically stronger, by the more robust contacts on the field. Also in the area of tactics and technique, I am evolved.”
Jardim dare sometimes to experiment with Tielemans. As was the Brussels ever behind attacker Falcao positioned. At that position could Tielemans, however, not shine. According to Jardim, and he lacks the dynamism to the attack. The Portuguese sees him rather from the own half to move. “The trainer will ask me to infiltrate and to combinations on the right wing. I try to do that. I play where the coach wants it. I think I have a little bit of everywhere can play”, analyzes the midfielder.
Tielemans shows that it is also ambitious. “The goal is to get the second place, not let go. The victory against Lyon has us mentally lot of virtue done. In such circumstances, to win against a strong opponent, that gives us confidence. That we also saw in the match against Angers (4-0), that was pure concentration and confidence,” says the Red Devil. “But every match is difficult. We need to stay focused. The motivation is not far to seek. At the end of the season, set other goals. For a place with the Red Devils at the world cup I will do my best on the field. I go to the deepest of my ability, without injuries to think”, concluded the Brussels.
