The Est Ott Tänak (Toyota Yaris WRC) is the leader of the rally Sweden, the second race in the world championship. Tänak was fastest in the 1,90 km long showrit in Karlstad. His team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota Yaris WRC) is second at 0.3. The Norwegian Mads Ostberg (Citroen C3 WRC) follows as the third at 0.6.

The superspecial in Karlstad is not more than an appetiser. While, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC) mispakte himself seriously when he last year, when he was in the lead lag, the error went and a wheel of his Hyundai broke. This time, Neuville difficult out of the starting blocks, and he had in a straight fight with Tänak the thumbs. The time difference with the Estlander, however, was minimal. Neuville was one second slower, good for the sixth time.

Sébastien Ogier (Ford Focus WRC) must be provisionally satisfied with the ninth place, 2.5 of Tänak. Towards the end of his ride was the world champion just very wide. In addition, he lost a few tenths.

Kevin Abbring and Peter Chun produced in their Ford Fiesta R5 a beautiful performance. They were only 4.5 slower than Tänak and left the fifteenth time afklokken. Friday the real work begins in Sweden. There will be seven klassementsritten driven, good for a total of 140,10 competitive kilometres.
