Film festival Oostende (FFO) were up this year for their twelfth edition, with actor Matteo Simoni as master of the festival, say the guest curator. This is reported by the organization yesterday. Last year fell that honor Wim Opbrouck yet to turn.
Every year takes the festival out with a Master that than FFO a little to his hand with a selected film programme. This year fell the eye of FFO on Matteo Simoni. “With Matteo we choose the youngest master in the history of FFO. He is for me one of the figureheads of the emerging talent that Flanders is rich, and that everything mars has to to break through internationally”, says Peter Craeymeersch, director of the film festival by the sea.
FFO is not unknown for Simoni. The 30-year-old Limburger won in 2013-an Ensor for Best Actor for his role in Marina by Stijn Coninx. He then made the beautiful weather as “Rolls” in the series of Safety First and as one of the callboys in the eponymous series by Jan Eelen. At this time he is shown in Patser of directors Adil el Arbi and Bilal Fallah.
“I find it really interesting that the film Festival Oostende more and more grows and radiates quality. To as the youngest master ever to be asked is an honour. That is exciting but even more of a challenge. I will do everything for you, with a Hilly smile to welcome it,” said Simoni. The way in which Simoni accents will put on the twelfth edition of FFO at the beginning of september will be announced later.
