CAPE town – The South African president Jacob Zuma resigns. His party, the ANC (African National Congress), had asked him to steps.
The controversial head of state addressed the population on tv from the Uniegebouw in Pretoria. Zuma said that he has to accept that if the party of him wants it has a right for his function, to release according to applicable laws.
Zuma was made controversial by a series of corruption scandals. Cyril Ramaphosa, the 65-year-old president of the ANC, is the most obvious candidate to be the president of South Africa if Zuma leaves.
