The police of the U.s. state of Maryland is investigating Wednesday a shooting early in the morning (local time) at the headquarters of the intelligence service NSA in Fort Meade. The White House announced that president Donald Trump already was informed.
A spokesman for the NSA stated that the situation is under control. According to ABC 7 News, three people were shot, and a suspect arrested.
According to the NSA, the nearby motorway closed in both directions, because of the ongoing police investigation. Television channel CBS News reported on an SUV close to the entrance of the NSA bullet holes in the forward.
“The president is at the height of the shooting in Fort Meade and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved,” said the White House in a statement.
