Klaasje van der Wal, bassist of the legendary Hague rock band Shocking Blue, is on Monday night at the age of 69 died. That has record label Red Bullet published.
“Klaas was the bassist in the original composition of Shocking Blue and starred at all the major successes,” writes the company on Facebook. “R. I. P. Klaasje and thanks for all the great music!”
Van der Wal made from 1967 to 1971, as part of Shocking Blue, in 1970, the first Dutch band which was a number 1 hit scored in the United States. The hit single Venus, written by guitarist Robbie van Leeuwen and sung by Mariska Veres, performed one week the Billboard Hot 100.
