The Danish prince Henrik, husband of queen Margrethe II, has died at the age of 83. He died Tuesday night, quietly in his sleep, says the Danish royal palace.
Prince Henrik was suffering for some time from dementia.
Last year caused Henrik fuss in Denmark by saying that he after his death beside his wife in the cathedral of Roskilde wants to be buried. There are almost all the princes of Denmark since the middle ages buried.
Prince Henrik has never made any secret that he was unhappy with his title of prince. He was like king. In 2016, he retired, and also gave his title of prince consort. Both spouses were more than 50 years married to each other.
