The Dutch ex-prime minister Ruud Lubbers on Wednesday at the age of 78 died, so has the Dutch Rijksvoorlichtingsdienst published.
The christian democratic politician was between 1982 and 1994, the prime minister of the Netherlands, and has led three governments.
For that time he was minister of Economic Affairs, member of the house and leader of the christian democratic party CDA.
After his career in politics was Lubbers professor and High Commissioner for Refugees at the United Nations. He was also a two time) involved in the formation of a new government, especially in 2006 and 2010.
Lubbers died in the presence of his wife and children in his hometown of Rotterdam.
