During the 23rd edition of the Africa film Festival, from april 20 to may 5 in Leuven, is the theme of the sexual and reproductive rights of the woman is treated in a variety of activities. The Africa film Festival is one of the most important European festivals of films from Africa and its diaspora.
For the theme works with the Africa film Festival in partnership with organisations such as the vzw RoSa, the Institute for Tropical Medicine, UCOS… There is also a round table discussion organized as, among other things, a slam poetry night, workshops, a traveling library and a photographic exhibition from Plan International Belgium.
During the festival, there is much attention for films from the northern and southern point of Africa, especially Tunisia and South Africa. Tunisia is a country that is by trial and error the democratic way-tries to walk and is a leader in the film industry. Also South Africa has a very rich film industry.
In Kinepolis and Cinema Zed in Leuven, more than 120 films will be screened with a range of Belgian, European and even world premieres. The festival will open with “Une saison en France” of Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, and closes with “La Belle et La Meute” by Kaouther Ben Hania. Lead actress Mariam El Farjani will be present at the slotvertoning.
Also in 30 other Flemish Brabant cities, towns and municipalities of movies are shown.
