The Danish prince Henrik, husband of queen Margrethe II, is discharged from the hospital after his condition last Friday was deteriorating. He will make his last days at home to spend, the Danish court today announced.
“His Royal Highness prince Henrik is today, of the Rigshospitalet at the royal palace of Fredensborg transferred. The prince wants to die there”, is to be read in the communiqué of the palace.
The 83-year-old prince is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and was since January 28, in the hospital “for an investigation of a tumor in the linkerlong”. That tumor turned out benign, but it still deteriorated his condition. The last weekend interrupted his son, crown prince Frederik, his journey to the Olympic Winter games to be with his father.
