Eric Schneiderman, the attorney general of the state of New York, has filed a complaint against The Weinstein Company and Harvey and Robert Weinstein.
Schneiderman has already been four months a study of The Weinstein Company. He begins the case now because there is a sale of The Weinstein Company at the lift. A group of investors, led by Maria Contreras-Sweet, ex-topvrouw in the Obama administration, wants the studio to take over.
In his complaint sets Schneiderman that the leaders of the company and the board of directors the employees have not protected against producer and former ceo of Harvey Weinstein.
Schneiderman wants the money from any sale being used to help victims of Harvey Weinstein to pay for it.
Weinstein was one of the most influential figures in Hollywood to he last year of his foot fell more than 70 women accused him of sexual misconduct and even rape.
Recently, Weinstein, through his lawyer, Ben Brafman, for the first time responded to allegations. Brafman calls the accusation of rape by actress Rose McGowan expressed ‘a brazen lie’.
‘Weinstein still has not responded, despite an abundance of evidence that the allegations are incorrect. But after the screening of Rose McGowan and that is only her book wants to promote, it is impossible to remain silent.’
McGowan reacted furiously. ‘You will be cursed for the suffering that you have caused’, she wrote on Twitter.
The New York Times and The New Yorker brought the misconduct of Weinstein to the light. Under more McGowans testimony put the #MeToo-movement in motion.
