HUALIEN – The death toll by the earthquake in Taiwan has risen to twelve. The emergency services revealed that the bodies of two Canadians have been found in the rubble of an apartment building.
The couple stayed in a hotel that was located in the building in Hualien, by the earthquake was dangerous to go tilt. Five Chinese are still missing. They also stayed in the hotel. More than two hundred aftershocks hampered the last few days the rescue work.
The quake caused this week major damage. Several buildings collapsed and there were cracks in roads. More than 270 people were injured. The power supply in Hualien, would now be completely restored, but about 8500 households were Friday still without water.
