HUALIEN – the death toll from the earthquake in Taiwan is further increased to ten. Up to now, there are 265 wounded counted and another 58 people missing.

Since the first quake with a force of 6.4 on Tuesday at the popular tourist resort of Hualien are almost 200 aftershocks counted. The toughest of them had a power of 5.7. Experts from the Taiwanese government expect that in the coming two weeks the aftershocks with a strength of up to 5.0.
Witnesses saw people in panic, a building run out during one of the many aftershocks. Many people react nervously, and stay as much as possible in the open air. About 40,000 homes sit by the earthquake without access to electricity and water. In Hualien on the east coast has a population of approximately 100,000 people.
