NAIROBI – All Kenyan television channels that black went after an action of the opposition, are now back in the air. Television station Citizen TV has made itself known that the broadcasts were resumed.
The authorities took several commercial television stations off the air after the symbolic presidential inauguration of opposition leader Raila Odinga. The stations did against the wishes of the authorities live report of the ceremony. The measure led to international criticism.
Been able to the other channels their transmissions to resume. It is still unclear why Citizen TV longer off the air remained. Government officials still have no explanation.
Odinga lost the presidential election 8 August of the sitting president Uhuru Kenyatta, but the supreme court declared then the ballot is invalid. The ’second chance’ did the opposition leader not to participate, because the elections, according to him, not honestly possible.
