TARAWA – two and a Half weeks after the disappearance of a ferry in the Pacific Ocean, is the search for possible survivors stopped.
This announced to the authorities of the eilandrepubliek Kiribati on Wednesday.
It is suspected that the spring, the Butiraoi, with at least 88 people on board, including 22 children, was sunk. So far, only seven passengers were saved, after them on a lifeboat were seen by the crew of an aircraft of the New Zealand air force.
The boat departed 18 January from the island of Nonouti island in Kiribati in Micronesia, to the 260 kilometers to the north located Betio, where the vessel two days later had to moor. That never happened.
