TAIPEI – The earthquake off the east coast of Taiwan has in each case four people killed. A further 145 are missing, notify local authorities Wednesday.
Rescue workers search among the rubble for survivors in the Taiwanese city of Hualien, which by the end of Tuesday by an earthquake with a strength of 6.4, was affected.
In the tourist popular city, which about 100,000 inhabitants, five buildings have collapsed and several roads and bridges closed. Meteorologists expect that in the next two weeks of aftershocks will be felt with a force to 5.0.
The epicenter of the earthquake was almost 20 kilometers northeast of Hualien. The quake followed dozens of less powerful earthquakes in the region in the prior 48 hours.
