Hollywood actor John Mahoney is at the age of 77 died from the effects of cancer. The British-American actor by the public at large is primarily known for the popular sitcom Frasier, in which he is the grumpy father of Frasier and Niles Crane played.
Although Mahoney was seen in numerous films and tv series, he was also often in the theatre. For the piece The House of Blue Leaves, received a Tony Award. He was also nominated twice for an Emmy and two Golden Globes.
However, the actor will mainly be remembered as the retired police officer Martin Crane in the series Frasier. For this role, it was Mahoney rewarded with a Screen Actors Guild award.
Frasier, a spin-off of the series Cheers, was aired between 1993 and 2004.
