The consulate-general of Belgium in Lubumbashi, the capital of the province of Haut-Katanga (in the southeast of the Congo), ‘will be on show from 6 February for an indefinite period to be closed’. This has been announced after the Congolese government the closure of the consulate had asked.
“For reasons beyond our control, will the consulate-general of Belgium in Lubumbashi for an indefinite period are closed from 6 February 2018. We will keep you informed”, says in a statement that through the social media spread. The closure was confirmed by the ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Congolese government had Monday’s closure asked. Kinshasa has in the meantime also decided to have its consulate in Antwerp is to close.
