Tony Gallopin (AG2R) has Sunday’s final time trial in the Star of Bessèges (cat. 2.1) won. That earned him the stage win in the French stage race. The 10.7 kilometres in Alès, with summit arrival, he was 20 seconds faster than his compatriot Yoann Paillot. Sylvain Chavanel was third at 22 seconds. Sean De Bie was the first Belgian to go on a tenth place at 45 seconds of the winner.
Gallopin completed the time trial in 15:21, good for an average 41,82 km per hour. In the end position he holds to 15 seconds, Christophe Laporte, who on Thursday the second stage won. Yoann Paillot was third at 20 seconds. Sean De Bie, winner of Saturday, ending eighth in the final 35 seconds.
It is for Gallopin his first victory for his new employer, AG2R. Last year, if the Frenchman is a one time only shout, also in the time trial of the etoile de Bessèges.
