‘The doctor in the science Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart, who for months by doctors was treated for severe depression, has his life terminated the first of February in the morning’, wrote the overheidskrant Granma Friday.
‘Fidelito’ was born on 1 september 1949. His father sent him to the Soviet Union to nuclear physics to study. After a topcarrière as a nuclear physicist, he was vice-president of the Academy of Sciences in Cuba, a position he until his death was active.
