As many as 12 riders at the dopinglamp in Tour of Costa Rica

During a check on december 22nd in the Tour of Costa Rica in one fell swoop, less than twelve riders caught on the use of EPO. That left the international cycling union (UCI) Wednesday know.

The Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation (CADF) carried out in Costa Rica is a well “planned and targeted” control. That was done on the basis of “the information collected with the help of the costa rican wielerfederatie, the local anti-doping committee, and the regional Institute for Sport and Relaxation”.

None of the caught riders posted in the past have been notable results at the highest level. Eleven among them are caught in the Cera version of EPO, one on the classical EPO. The riders are provisionally suspended pending the analysis of their B-steel. .
