There had already been months of rumours that Fernando Alonso this year, would take part in the legendary 24 hours of Le Mans and now it’s official. Toyota Gazoo Racing made on its site are known to the Spaniard to add to their line-up for the upcoming WEC campaign.
Alonso will be found in the Toyota #8 that he will share with Sébastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima. The Spaniard his debut is scheduled during the six hours of Spa-Francorchamps in may. Toyota mentions that he will attend all races of the WEC that are not in conflict with his F1 commitments.
“I look forward to my first participation in the 24 hours of Le Mans,” said Alonso. “ It is a race that I long with great attention follow and it is always an ambition to once at the start are.”
