Russian president Vladimir Putin calls the new Us list of Russian names “a hostile step” that the ties between the two countries is damaged.
The American ministry of Finance has, in execution of the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (Caatsa), made a list of 210 political figures and oligarchs who have close ties with Putin.
The law is intended to Russia as punishment for its alleged interference in the American elections and its activities in Ukraine.
With the list, also called a ” Putin-list’, will the Congress make public who has benefited from good relations with Putin, and they warn that in the future they can become the subject of (more) sanctions.
The list includes the names of prime minister Dmitry Medvedev and minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov. More than 40 members of putin’s administration are on the record, with the exception of Putin himself. That said reportedly giggly that he hurt is that he is not on the list.
Putin says that he relationships nothing is further oxidised to retaliate.
“We had this list expected”, assures Putin. “We were willing to spend to retaliate, serious, making our relationships reduced to zero would be, but for the time being we will not take it.’
The American president Donald Trump supported Caatsa not, although the act has signed it.
