Laszlo Köteles is no longer a part of KRC Genk. The contract of the Hungarian goalkeeper is in mutual agreement dissolved, so let the People Monday know.
Köteles (33) signed in the summer of 2009 for Genk. In his first season, he got together with the club a ticket for the Europa League after barragewedstrijden against the Limburg rivals STVV. After a season as second goalkeeper after Thibaut Courtois (in 2010-2011), there were Köteles again to a fixed value between the Genk poles, and there grew to be a real crowd pleaser.
Last season was Köteles loaned out to Waasland-Beveren. The Hungarian returned last summer to return to the Limunus Arena but he lost the competition with Danny Vukovic.
Köteles has played 191 matches in the shirt of Genk. He was the People champion in 2011 (as bankzitter) and a cup winner in 2013.
“We would like to thank Laszlo for his boundless commitment to KRC Genk and wish him much success in his further career”, says Genk.
