After six months of unemployment to look has former Red Devil Gill Swerts (35) finally found a new club. The fullback was dredged up by KFC Lille, that in the first provincial series in Antwerp plays. Swerts was since he on July 1, 2017 left in FC Seraing without a club.
Swerts was especially the rage in the Dutch Eredivisie, the war he came out for Excelsior, Feyenoord, ADO Den Haag, Vitesse, AZ and Nac Breda. After spending time in Denmark (SönderjyskE) and England (Notts County) he arrived in October 2016 back to Belgium to Seraing to play. There he was after a little more than nine months, was shown the door. Swerts played between 2006 and 2009, seventeen times for the Red Devils and scored once.
KFC Lille is currently third in first provincial Antwerp, after Racing Mechelen and Lyra.
