The American film director Steven Spielberg is going to be a remake turning from the famous movie ‘West Side Story’.
The oscar-winning musical from 1961, shot by the duo of Jerome Robbins (choreography) and Robert Wise, was, in its turn, a film adaptation of the musical by Leonard Bernstein. Bernstein’s musical was also not purely original: the piece falls back on Shakespeare’s ‘Rome and Juliet’. Spielberg is already wildly looking for young actors for the lead roles of, particularly, Bernardo and Maria to play. In the original print, winner of ten Oscars, were George Chakiris, and Natalie Wood.
Spielberg is going to be remake based on the adaptation of author Tony Kushner, the man who is famous, to a tv-series processed play ‘Angels in America’, wrote.

Interested persons must be between 15 and 25 years old, and for the main roles, preferably in a Hispanic-avoid. In the version of ‘61 were both Bernardo as Maria Portoricanen from the Upper West Side in New York Manhattan, unfortunately for them and their love comes from two opposing clans – the Jets and the Sharks. The film also had two important nevenrollen: Tony and Anita, played by, respectively, the Greek-American George Chakiris and the Porto Rican Rita Moreno. Both won for their game a Oscar.
For Spielberg is the turning of a musical, despite his 71 years of life, a first.
The hollywood musical film, based seems to be a rebirth began, with last year three highlights in the movie theaters, the umpteenth version of ‘La Belle et la Morsel’ (The Clean and the Beast), the oscar-winning “La La Land” (by some also, but lala found) and ‘The Greatest Showman’ (about the origins of the world of showbiz).
