Tiesj Benoot (Lotto Soudal) has Friday during the fifth stage of the Tour of San Juan (Arg/2.1) seized the fifth place. The victory after 169,5 km between the starting-place San Martin, and the arrival on the top of the Alto de Colorado for the Argentinian Gonzalo Najar (Sindicato Friendly).

Najar, the Argentine champion, won over for the Spanish veteran Oscar Sevilla (+1:58, Medellin-Inder) and the Colombian Rodolfo Andres Torres (+2:05, Androni-Sidermec). Benoot was at 2:23 fifth.

In the general classification takes the Argentine Najar the leadership of the Italian Filippo Ganna (UAE Emirates), who are seventh in the stage. Najar counts as a new leader 1:02 for Seville, 1:22 Ganna and 2:12 at number six, Tiesj Benoot.

Saturday awaits the riders in Argentina, a relatively flat stage, 152,6 km with start and arrival in San Juan. The stage race ends Sunday.
