The Czech Barbora Spotakova, the world champion javelin last summer in London, has announced on Thursday that they are this season not in action. She is indeed pregnant with her second child.
The 36-year-old Czech is also a two-time olympic champion. She picked up gold in Beijing (2008) and London (2012). In Rio de Janeiro (2016), she had to be satisfied with bronze.
Spotakova is planning the training in the najar of 2018 to resume, in preparation for the world cup in 2019 in Doha and the Olympic Games in 2020 in Tokyo.
The Czech was already a strong comback. In may 2013 she gave birth to her first child, Janek, to which they are a few months later, European champion and the Diamond League won.
Spotakova is currently wereldrecordhouster with a roll of 72m28.
